NASA Chat: Why Meteorites Matter

This iron-nickel meteorite found near Fort Stockton, Texas, in 1952 is about 15 centimeters (6 inches) across and is in the collection of Texas Christian University.

On Thursday, Nov. 8, from 2-3 p.m. EST, Dr. Bill Cooke will be on hand to answer your questions about meteorites. Cooke is the lead for the Meteoroid Environment Office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. As a special bonus, Dr. Marc Fries, a noted expert in meteorites and their recovery, will join Dr. Cooke in answering your questions about meteorites.
