IceBridge Mission: Antarctic 2012

IceBridge Mission: Antarctic 2012

The different thicknesses of sea ice form a spectrum of colors and shapes ranging from dark black open water, a thin grease-like covering called grease ice, and thicker grey ice.

After two no-fly days for aircraft maintenance and weather, IceBridge surveyed the Ronne Ice Shelf grounding line and took high-altitude measurements of four glaciers in West Antarctica.

These missions gathered critical ice elevation and thickness data.
